Research description:

Main emphasis is on using power electronics to improve power quality. Resarch has been performed on using shunt active filters and active voltage conditioners in the distribution system.

Other research areas include motor speed controller and inverters for electric vehicles, switched reluctance motors, multi-level inverters and cryogenic power electronics.

Laboratory facilities:

Our Department has a well equipped power electronics lab with access to the latest DSP computing facilities and a wide range of electric motor test systems.
