Research description:

Current research is focused primarily on a systematic framework for modeling and analysis of hybrid systems, with power systems providing an important (but not exclusive) applications base. Algorithms for solving inverse problems, such as parameter estimation, parameter uncertainty, boundary value problems, and optimal control, are being pursued. These algorithms build largely on trajectory sensitivities, so efficient methods of solving variational equations for hybrid systems are of great interest.
