Research description:
Recent research activities include:
- 1. Development of slow coherency and aggregation modules for the EPRI
DYNRED program;
2. Identification of the parameters of a hydro generator using test
data;
3. Development of sytem identification techniques for use with
responses from simulation programs, power system simulators, and data
measured on actual systems;
4. Design of robust low-order power system damping controllers
using the linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique;
5. Analysis of data from several digital swing recorders to identify
power swing mode shapes;
6. Nonlinear control design of an experimental switched reluctance
motor;
7. Development of the Power System Toolbox, a simulation package based on
MATLAB.
