Research description:
The primary focus of my research includes modeling, analysis and control of large-scale power grids, power system disturbance analysis using phasor measurements to prevent blackouts, modeling of wind farms and wind turbines, fault diagnostics and wide-area monitoring, together with appropriate software development for proper visualization and control.
Laboratory facilities:
Relay-based PMUs from Schweitzer Engineering Lab and National Instruments with appropriate interfacing software are housed in our Smart Power Systems Lab (SPSL). An FDR donated by Virginia Tech is also in operation.
